Itinerary: Rovos Rail Tour: Pretoria to Cape Town (wine tour would be the Post-Tour option)
Day 1: Tuesday/Friday
- 15h00 Depart Rovos Rail’s private Capital Park Station aboard the Pride of Africa.
Day 2: Wednesday/Saturday
- 10h00 Arrive in Kimberley. Passengers are afforded an opportunity to visit the Big Hole, the Diamond Museum, and take a tram ride.
- 13h00 Depart Kimberley and proceed overnight via De Aar and Beaufort West for Matjiesfontein.
Day 3: Thursday/Sunday
- 08h15 Visit the historically-charged village of Matjiesfontein.
- 10h30 Depart Matjiesfontein and proceed via Touws River, De Doorns and Worcester to Cape Town.
- 18h00 Arrive at Cape Town Station, Platform 24. Guests will be met at the station and transferred to their hotel in the Winelands. Dinner served at your hotel.

Day 1: Monday
- 11h00 Depart from Platform 23 at Cape Town Station and proceed inland to Worcester.
- 18h00 Upon arrival you will be taken in with the utter charm of this quaint historical village, and will soon find yourself exploring its stores and dusty roads – in the process meeting the local characters! 19h00 Depart Matjiesfontein.
Day 2: Tuesday
- 13h00 Upon arrival in Kimberley, guests transfer to the historic Kimberley Club and then take the electric tram from the City centre and head for the Big Hole and Kimberley Museum, which showcases, among other things, the history of South Africa’s diamond-mining industry, plus a treasure chest of Dinosaur fossils found in the surrounding Karoo).
Day 3: Wednesday
- 12h00 Arrive at Rovos Rail’s Capital Park Station, Pretoria. The Wine Desk is more than willing to assist you with any hotel reservations relating to your stay in Pretoria. Please contact us for some personal recommendations.
Wine Tour - There is a choice of either the Wine Connoisseur Tour (comprising 2 days in the Winelands) or the Best of the Cape Wine Tour (comprising 1 day in the Winelands and 1 day visiting attractions in the Cape - Table Mountain, Cape Point, and Robben Island).
Guests selecting a Post-Tour will be collected from the Rovos Rail train on arrival in Cape Town and transfered to hotel in the Winelands. Dinner spent at your leisure - for your own account.
Guests selecting a Pre-Tour will be collected from the airport or collection point of choice, and then transferred to your hotel situated in the Winelands. Dinner spent at your leisure and for your own account.
