Our day in the Cape Winelands takes you through three of the Cape's major wine-producing regions - Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl.
Our first stop of the day is at Lynx Wines where you will be treated to an intimate cellar tour and tasting at this boutique winery.

La Motte, in Franschhoek, is truly a place of wine, women and song. The home of acclaimed mezzo-soprano Hanneli Koegelenberg, La Motte has been producing fine wines since 1752. Lunch is at Franschhoek's La Petite Ferme, a restaurant which has been among the best in the country for three generations.
After lunch, we head off to Paarl's Backsberg Estate Cellars, one of the oldest farms in the Western Cape and proud holders of Carbon Neutral Status for efforts to counter global warming. We then had for the renowed Spier Estate in Stellenbosch which boasts the most unique facilities in the Cape Winelands as well as being home to the Cheetah Outreach Program where we can get up close to these beautiful and endangered creatures. Not to be missed is a tasting of Spiers' award winning wines.
Check in at Devon Valley Hotel in the heart of the vineyards outside Stellenbosch for the evening, followed by dinner at your leisure (dinner for own account).

You may be tempted to lie in, or linger over your breakfast, but we'll be whisking you off to Cape Town for an early morning view from the top of Table Mountain (we opt for the easy option, up in the cable car!) , weather permitting.
From one famous site to another – we head off down the length of the peninsula to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and Cape Point. We then head for the penguins, but stop along the way at the Black Marlin for a superb seafood lunch (for your own account). Then on to the penguins at Boulders Beach, where you will have time to wander down the wooden walkways and see these dapper little birds from close quarters.

Next, it's time for some retail therapy at the ever-popular Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, before we board a ferry for Robben Island. The view of the city and the mountain is truly magnificent and the tour of Robben Island, prison-home to former President Nelson Mandela for over 20 years, gives a not-to-be-missed insight into South Africa's struggle for democracy.

What better place to end a fabulous day, than Cape Town's Urban Chic Hotel with its amazing views and gorgeously decorated rooms?
* Itinerary subject to change: every effort will be made to keep the itinerary as it appears here; however, the final itinerary may vary due to wine producer schedules, availability, and factors beyond our control.
