The Wine Desk is Ligia de Coito. Winemakers and wine lovers in the Cape have come to know her during the 9 years she worked at the Cape Wine Academy in Stellenbosch, South Africa’s oldest and most respected wine tasting training facility. Ligia's passion for wine is over the top and contagious, and there are few who can match her enthusiasm for wine, winemaking, the Cape Winelands and everything to do with enjoying wine. Promoting wine comes naturally to her and it is no wonder that she founded the Wine Desk in 2002. The Wine Desk works only with accredited specialist wine tour guides. This means you are guaranteed a fun day out and user-friendly answers to your questions. No more boring trips staring out of bus windows. No more confusing techno-speak. Ligia is a founder-member of the South African Wine Tourism Forum, a member of Skäl International, hosts regular Saturday get-togethers for local wine lovers and has organised and led wine and food gourmet tours to France and Italy. Wine Desk is a registered tour broker and able to assist clients with all bookings for their visit to South Africa. Our focus and expertise is on wine, but as our clients develop a great relationship with us, we are often asked to take care of their full trip for them. So ask about about safaris, Peninsula trips, Garden Route, etc etc.
Our focus is also on Culinary Tourism. Due to our excellent relationship with some of SA's top chefs, we are able to create dream culinary tours for small groups.
